Marise has lived and worked in Namibia, the Thai Burma border with refugees, Indigenous Australia and Spain focusing on development projects and education, assisting people to empower themselves within the circumstances they experience. She is a qualified and registered English and Meditation teacher who has used meditation in the classroom for over 20 years, including the delivery of meditation workshops for various schools and organisations.

 

She has practised Iyengar yoga for over 25 years and has been teaching Yoga for over 8 years. She is a Psychotherapist and specializes in assisting clients through chronic conditions such as trauma release, anxiety, eating disorders, student fatigue and apathy, depression, suicide and physical abuse. A combination of approaches can be utilised according to the needs of the client such as deep Stillness Meditation along with therapeutic touch, Psychotherapy, Reiki or learning Qi Gong techniques that can assist with breaking down persistent negative behavioral or thought patterns.

Marise is a Qi Gong Teacher with over ten years experience, a Reiki Master and is fully registered with the Australian Teachers of Meditation Association. She is the mother of two gorgeous teenage girls and continues to teach English part time as a way to connect with young people, which informs her therapy considerably.

Marise also teaches The Diploma in Meditation and Mindfulness through the College of Soul Focused Psychotherapy. This course suits people interested in teaching meditation or who would like to deepen their own practice. She offers short courses on the Chakra System, Qi Gong Level 1 techniques which consist of 7 sitting techniques and two movement techniques, The Jungian Rosarium Series or Coniunctio, Hatha Yoga as well as running weekend retreats and workshops on The Levels of Consciousness & wellbeing. These courses connect people in a very empowering way and help them to move towards optimum health with the support of a community.
