Meditation has been used for centuries as a means to understand how consciousness works and to harness the benefits of being conscious or “aware”. Being in a human body means being able to witness conscious thought and to use personal will to direct what to think and which thoughts will actually be chosen to create action. An untrained mind will often create reactive actions rather than purposeful and considered actions. Level one techniques will often assist a person to tame the unruly mind and let it know that it is a servant and not a master. With practice a more mindful awareness can be established as the mind knows its place and cooperates in establishing a relationship with higher awareness. Many techniques exist to suit the needs of the client and how the client experiences the technique becomes a way for the therapist to notice and address common thinking errors when they present. These can be explored in a session and systematically addressed through the most suitable modality for the client.
Weekly meditation classes are also offered.
